Bicycling Magazine Features Ride for Courage Jersey, 12/22/2009

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – A local cycling tradition made worldwide news this month when Bicycling magazine selected the ride's originally designed jersey as "Jersey of the Month."

The Ride for Courage polar bear jersey, designed by PAVE Creative Group in Winston-Salem, was featured in the magazine's January/February 2010 issue. Bicycling magazine has more than 2 million readers from around the world, and is considered by cycling enthusiasts as the premier publication for the sport.

The polar bear jersey was created as a fundraising item for Cancer Services, the benefiting organization of the January 1, 2010 Ride for Courage: Polar Bear Metric Century. Jerseys are free to anyone who collects $500 or more in pledges, and are on sale for $75 at www.gopolar.org .

The annual ride is in its sixth year as a benefit for Cancer Services. This year Allen Joines, mayor of Winston-Salem will attend the ride to declare January 1, 2010 "Ride for Courage Day."
